Description: The HoustonNet project was established by the University of Houston (UH) partnered with the Harris-Galveston Subsidence District (HGSD) in 2012 to create a dense GPS network in the greater Houston region in order to study natural hazards. The HoustonNet comprises over 220 permanent GPS stations operated by the HGSD, the UH, the National Geodetic Survey (NGS), the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), the City of Houston, SmartNet, and other agencies.
